Using lumber that has been grown and harvested near their respective manufacturing facilities not only allows the manufacturer to produce furniture of high quality at a lower cost but also allows that company to reduce their environmental impact by eliminating the necessity to transport the lumber a long distance or “overseas”.

The lumber used by these manufacturers is also harvested in a sustainable fashion to allow for our forests to continue producing lumber for generations to come.

One manufacturer, Vaughan Bassett, takes the sustainability factor one step further and plants a tree for every tree they harvest, ensuring the fact that they will leave a legacy of sustainable furniture manufacturing in the United States.
